Last night there were vigils held around the world to remember the victims of the homophobic massacre which happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gunman, Omar Mateen, opened fire on the Gay nightclub ‘Pulse’ which was said to be routed in extremist islamic ideology.
Imam Muhammed Musri, of the Islamic Society of Central Florida said:
“We condemn the ideology of hate and death and destruction and we call for all muslim leaders and communities across this nation and across the world to stand up and to deal with this cancer and remove it once and for all”
Vigils have been held across the world, in LA Lady Gaga broke down in tears as she read out the names of the victims.
Whilst thousands gathered in London’s Soho district the hub of the city’s Gay community, where 49 balloons were released in memory of those who died.
